{Hello Route. Nanao's sitting at a picnic table in New Bark Town, hands folded neatly on the table. One hand's knuckles are wrapped in a handkerchief, but she stares levelly at the camera, eyes utterly serious.}

Hello. I would be grateful if someone out there was able to provide an answer to my questions. Don't worry, I only have two. {She looks away for a moment, swallowing.}

How were we brought here, and does anyone know why? I think I understand where we are, even if the premise is absurd, but it is the how and why that yet eludes me.

{A Pidgey chirps somewhere off camera, and Nanao's fingers clench and uncurl.}

A precis on what happened might be nice as well, considering that this town looks like it's been ravaged by a storm.

{That said, she reaches out and clicks off the feed. She'll be wandering around New Bark for a while at least, so feel free to approach her if you see her!}

[ it's been a bit since nagi himself arrived— he's filled himself in, though, with any source he could find since "mom" was a bit out of the question ( how long has it been since he's seen his mother? a very long time ).

despite only being vaguely familiar with pokemon ( he'd probably only recognize pikachu ), it wasn't so bad, and neither was it too hard to follow once you knew how to walk a straight line. there are quite a few questions lingering in his head ( for example: he's never heard of a limbo like this, or an after life— ), but those would probably come to him in time.

he wasn't in any hurry, after all.

the skies are a bit cloudy and dark, though— with drizzles every so often. nagi is checking out new bark town himself at this time, his bulbasaur accompanying and sometimes wandering a bit too far from him in favor of curiosity.

like in this case, where she's the first to go over to nanao and sniff at her feet, looking up and sitting as she observes and greets while nagi is asking a citizen for small pecks of information. once he notices, nagi comes soon after, giving a sheepish smile, speaking with a mechanical-like voice. ]

There you are—

[ the smile is more directed to nanao now, as aster, his companion, continues where it is ( there's no problem in saying hello! is what she thinks. nagi would agree, but going off like that . . . ! he wondered if that's what it felt like to lose your kid at the park ). ]

I hope she didn't bother you, Miss.

{The first thing she notices is a small plant-dinosaur snuffling at her feet, and she kneels down, extending a hand for it to sniff.}

You're a curious little one, aren't you? {As Nagi wanders over, she looks up, and returns his smile.}

No harm done, none at all. A sense of curiosity is a healthy thing to have, provided the little one's guardian is close by.

[ ahhhh nanao, you're really suave uwu and the bulbasaur likes that, rubbing her face against the extended fingers after another sniff— as for nagi, he gives a small, scratchy and silent laugh. ]

It's how we learn. Although she seems a lot more familiar with things than I do.

[ he gives a bow, hand to his chest. ]

I'm Nagi Kengamine— But please call me Nagi. Aster's already had the pleasure, it seems.

[ he gestures to the bulbasaur, as it gives a friendly "saur". he prefers friendly familiarity, really— it makes people feel a lot more comfortable. ]

I've just arrived— Are you a citizen as well or-?

{Nanao will then scritch the Bulbasaur behind its little ears.}

She is native to this place, and we... are not. {With a final pat, Nanao stands up, nodding in acknowledgement at Nagi.}

Nanao Ise. I'm glad to see another new face here, to be honest.

I might have to agree with you. We look for similarities around us like we look for the sun on a day like this.

[ still cloudy and darkish and ready to just rain down on them at anytime . . . ]

Speaking of the weather— [ he looks up. ] The forecast doesn't seem be in much of our favor . . . Do you need any help with setting up camp?

[ as far as he's seen— new bark town doesn't have many options-! ]

Hm. {She doesn't know him, but then again, she doesn't truly know anyone.}

You know what? I wouldn't mind a hand. ...that said, I was hoping to get a little closer to Cherrygrove before I did so.
